In the winter of 2009, a 50-year-old man named Kevin P. Garfield vanished from Jefferson County, Missouri, leaving behind a life that was, by some accounts, transient. He was last seen in Festus, Missouri, on February 20, 2009. At the time of his disappearance, it is believed that Garfield was living out of his recreational vehicle.
