Zackery "Zack" Lee Brewer, a 16-year-old from Nampa, Idaho, was last seen on August 22, 2009. Just after midnight, he visited his mother's home and seemed worried about something, but he left without explaining what was troubling him. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a brown striped jacket with a fur-trimmed hood. Zackery is a white male with blond hair and hazel/green eyes.
At the time of his disappearance, he was described as being 5'9" to 5'11" tall and weighing approximately 160-165 pounds. He has scars on his arms and is right-handed.
In the months prior to his disappearance, Zackery had been staying with a family friend, Javier Guillen Aguilar. In July 2009, a month before Zackery went missing, Aguilar was charged with three counts of lewd conduct with a child under sixteen. The victims were young boys, and the abuse had occurred between 2000 and 2005. Zackery had provided police with evidence against Aguilar, and a material witness warrant was issued for him in February 2010, but he could not be located to testify. Later in 2010, Aguilar was convicted and sentenced to twenty-one years in prison; he died in prison in 2014. Authorities believe Aguilar may have had other victims.
While authorities have stated they believe Zackery may have initially left of his own accord, there is significant concern for his safety as no one has seen or heard from him since the day he vanished. The connection to the case against Aguilar has led to strong suspicions that his disappearance is linked to what he knew.
