Norman Held, 64, was last seen on January 4, 2011, in Walls, Mississippi. He had just left B.J.'s Barbershop in Horn Lake around noon, driving his maroon 2007 Chevrolet Silverado. This would be the last time anyone saw him. Held, who had a surgical scar on his neck from a prior operation, was wearing eyeglasses and may have been sporting a yellow rope chain with a cross.
Several months later, on September 22, 2011, Held's truck was discovered submerged in the Mississippi River near Bass Landing. Although the vehicle was located, Held's body was not inside. Authorities believe the strong river currents may have forced him out of the truck through a broken window or swept him away while he attempted to escape. Despite continued efforts, his remains have not been recovered, and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear.
Held's case remains open, with the Desoto County Sheriff's Department handling the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities.
