Jeffrey Keith Hegwood, a 23-year-old from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, was last seen on March 20, 1980. He was preparing for a date that evening, having gone to the bank and purchased flowers. After leaving the Townhouse Lounge at around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m., he never made it home. Later that night, his car was involved in a minor hit-and-run accident, but it is unclear whether Jeffrey was driving at the time.
