Frances Collier Ewalt, a 24-year-old woman from Forsyth, Montana, was last seen on August 19, 1973. She was at the Agate Bar on Main Street around 11 p.m. with a female friend, but she left the bar, stating she was going to meet her brother, a nightclub musician. However, she never arrived, and this was the last time anyone saw her. Ewalt's personal belongings, including her car, purse, and a paycheck, were left behind, and she did not access her bank accounts or a trust fund since her disappearance.
At the time, Frances was in the midst of a divorce and working as a cocktail waitress at the Century Club in Forsyth.
Her family suspected foul play as it was highly unusual for her to leave her three sons behind without any notice. Despite investigations, there has been little evidence pointing to her whereabouts, and her case remains unsolved. The Rosebud County Sheriff’s Office continues to list her as a missing person.
