On May 22, 1986, a 24-year-old mother named Amy Marie Johnson vanished from Livingston, Montana. A member of the Chippewa Cree Indians of the Rocky Boy's Reservation, Amy's life was rooted in her community and family. On the day she was last seen, she was at her apartment with her roommate when she mentioned she would be leaving for a couple of hours.
