In the autumn of 1983, a young woman named Patricia Anne Osborn, known to her loved ones as Patty, vanished from Seattle, Washington. At nineteen years old, she was last seen on the evening of October 20, 1983. Patty, a biracial female with black hair and hazel eyes, was near the 99 Motel in the 11500 block of Aurora Avenue when she disappeared. She had plans to meet a man for a date at a nearby restaurant but never made it to her destination. Standing at five feet three inches and weighing around 125 pounds, Patty had a distinctive one-inch surgical scar on her pelvic bone region. She was known to occasionally use the aliases Tina Lusk and Pamela M. Osborne. The circumstances surrounding Patricia's disappearance quickly led investigators to suspect foul play. Her case became intertwined with the notorious Green River killer investigation, as many of the victims in that case were young women involved in high-risk lifestyles, similar to Patty's situation at the time. Authorities have long considered her a potential victim of the serial killer, Gary Ridgway. Although Ridgway was eventually convicted of numerous murders, he was never charged in connection with Patricia's case due to a lack of direct evidence, and her body has never been found. When questioned about her, Ridgway reportedly stated he believed he might have killed her but could not recall any specific details. The disappearance of Patricia Osborn remains an open and deeply troubling case. For decades, her family and investigators have been left without answers regarding her ultimate fate. The connection to the Green River killer casts a dark shadow over the case, suggesting a tragic end, though without her remains, this cannot be definitively confirmed. The case is a heart-wrenching example of the many unsolved disappearances of vulnerable young women from that era in the Seattle area. Patricia is one of several women suspected to be victims of Ridgway whose cases remain officially unresolved, leaving a void of uncertainty and a lingering hope for discovery and justice.
