In the late summer of 1982, a 16-year-old girl named Kasee Ann Lee vanished from the Seattle, Washington area. On August 28th, she left the residence she shared with her husband to walk to a nearby store for dinner supplies. She was last seen at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the vicinity of the Sea-Tac International Airport. At the time of her disappearance, Kasee was described as a white female with red/blonde hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'4" and weighing 108 pounds. She had distinctive scars near her nose, on her right cheek, and near one of her eyebrows. When she was last seen, she was wearing a white blouse, red shorts, and blue sandals, and was carrying a brown purse with $20 in cash. Her husband, Anthony Lee, reported her missing two days after she was last seen. Kasee's life in the period leading up to her disappearance was complex. She had worked for a Photomat franchise but was also involved in sex work. It is believed that her husband was also her pimp. There were indications that Kasee was a victim of abuse, as she would often have cuts and bruises but would not disclose who was responsible. Her family, including her parents who lived in Spokane, Washington, were left with no answers as to what happened to their daughter. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance immediately raised concerns of foul play among investigators. The investigation into Kasee's disappearance eventually became intertwined with the search for the notorious Green River Killer. She fit the profile of many of the other victims and was last seen in an area where another victim's remains were discovered. In 2003, Gary Ridgway, the man identified as the Green River Killer, confessed to murdering Kasee. He claimed to have strangled her shortly after she disappeared and disposed of her body near a drive-in theater or behind a bowling alley. Despite his confession and providing a location, extensive searches have never recovered her remains. Consequently, while Ridgway was convicted of murdering 49 women, he was not charged in Kasee's case due to the lack of physical evidence. The case officially remains an endangered missing person case, a profound and unresolved loss for her loved ones who are still seeking closure.
