David Samuel Collette, age 51, was last seen on May 22, 1984, in Stockton, California. He left his home that morning to go to work but never arrived and has not been heard from since. His vehicle, a significant clue in the case, was discovered abandoned eight days later on May 30 in the parking lot of a Mervyn's Department Store in Lodi, California, approximately 14 miles from his home.
