In the summer of 1989, a long-time resident of San Diego, California, 75-year-old John Scott Hahn, embarked on a trip to Laughlin, Nevada. Prior to his departure on June 10, 1989, he drove his wife to the airport. He was reportedly carrying a significant amount of cash.
