On a June morning in 1994, 16-year-old Ralph Parker disappeared from Rocky Point, New York. Earlier that day, he and his brother had gone out fishing in a small, 14-foot white Sailfish skiff. They returned to shore around 9:00 AM, at which point Ralph informed his brother he was going to head back out on the water alone. Ralph was never seen again. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a dark blue GAP sweatshirt, teal jeans, and black and white sneakers. He also had on a white baseball cap, a silver hoop earring in his pierced left ear, and a black watch. An extensive search was launched in the days following Ralph's disappearance, involving helicopters, planes, and boats, but it was ultimately called off after two days with no sign of the teenager or his boat. During the search efforts, a life preserver and some bait buckets were discovered, but it was never confirmed if these items belonged to Ralph. His boat was never recovered. The official theory is that Ralph may have accidentally drowned. The Suffolk County Police Department is handling the investigation into Ralph's disappearance. Distinctive physical characteristics noted in his case file include a discoloration on his forehead and a scar on his left thigh. His case remains an active missing person investigation, a painful lingering mystery for his loved ones and the community.
