Henry Arthur Moreno, a 46-year-old businessman, was last seen on August 6, 1998, in Sacramento, California. He had lunch at the 524 Restaurant on Northgate Boulevard at around 11:45 a.m. that day. There was an unconfirmed sighting of him shortly afterward at a nearby Home Depot, where he may have been seen with a well-dressed man in the lumber section. Moreno was driving a white 1997 Nissan Pathfinder, which has never been located.
His vehicle was reportedly seen on Interstate 99 near Stockton a day after his disappearance, but this has not been verified.
At the time of his disappearance, Moreno was preparing for the grand opening of his restaurant, La Mansion del Rio, scheduled for two days later. Despite extensive efforts by authorities, no significant clues have emerged to explain his sudden disappearance. Moreno had withdrawn $200 from his bank account that day but left $800 at home. His credit cards and phone have not been used since, and there have been no confirmed sightings. Investigators and his family have not ruled out foul play. Some leads suggested he might have fled to Mexico, but none have been substantiated. His family firmly believes he would not have left them voluntarily, especially his teenage daughter and elderly parents.
