Tracee Jane Carter, 40, was last seen on October 15, 2002, in Ventura, California. She had mentioned to her family that she was planning a trip to Alaska. On the day of her disappearance, Carter rented a car, packed it with luggage, and strapped a canoe to the roof. Before leaving, she gave most of her belongings to her son.
