Maria Placz, a 26-year-old woman, was last seen on July 21, 1976, in Ventura, California. Originally from Hungary, Maria had recently moved to the United States. At the time of her disappearance, she was working for Infra-Red Industries in Carpinteria, California, and living in a care center due to her status as a dependent adult.
