In July of 2012, 40-year-old Isaac Lee Roberts, a resident of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, traveled by motorcycle to his hometown of Joseph, Oregon, to attend the annual Chief Joseph Days celebration. On the evening of July 28th, he was seen at the Stubborn Mule Bar and Steakhouse, leaving at approximately 1:45 a.m. with two men and two women. This was one of the last confirmed sightings of Isaac. His wife reported him missing on July 29, 2012, sparking an investigation into his sudden and mysterious disappearance. Isaac was a Wallowa County native and a graduate of Joseph High School, and his return for the local festivities was a homecoming that took a devastating turn. The initial stages of the investigation revealed a series of perplexing events. After leaving the bar, Isaac was reportedly with another man and they decided to drive to Lewiston, Idaho. Their vehicle allegedly ran out of gas on the return trip to Joseph. The man with Isaac reportedly hitchhiked to Enterprise to get fuel, leaving Isaac with the car. Authorities stated that two individuals from Union County were considered persons of interest, though their names were not publicly released. Investigators believe that foul play was involved and that Isaac may have been harmed during the return trip from Lewiston. Despite the passage of time, the search for Isaac has never ceased, with law enforcement continuing to follow up on any leads that emerge. The investigation has involved multiple agencies, including the Oregon State Police, the Wallowa County Sheriff's Office, and the FBI.
