Helen Stark, a 24-year-old woman from South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, disappeared around January 12, 1946. At the time, Helen was facing marital issues with her husband, William P. Stark, and they had two young children together. On the day she went missing, she had planned to pick up her children from a babysitter but never arrived. Helen has not been seen or heard from since.
Her husband, William, coincidentally was discharged from the Army on the same day she disappeared, adding to the mystery surrounding her case. Despite a thorough search, no significant clues have ever surfaced. Helen’s family strongly believes she would not have voluntarily abandoned her children, particularly given her history—her own mother died when she was young, and her siblings were placed in an orphanage.
At the time of her disappearance, Helen was described as being between 5'9" and 6'0" tall, weighing 170 to 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Her maiden name was Borkowski.
