Martin Franzel, a 76-year-old man, disappeared on June 14, 1963, from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He left his home on the 6000 block of 3rd Avenue South for his regular early morning walk between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. but never returned. Franzel, who walked with a limp and used a cane, was last seen wearing a cotton shirt, khaki pants, and a tan cloth cap. He was spotted by a relative during his walk near 66th Street and Nicollet Avenue, about a mile and a half from his home, but no further sightings were reported.
An extensive search was conducted in the surrounding areas, but no trace of Franzel was ever found. His case remains unsolved, and there is little information regarding the circumstances of his disappearance. Franzel had gray hair, blue eyes, and wore eyeglasses with metal rims.
