Willie Ann Rucker, a 27-year-old mother of three, was last seen in Waterloo, Iowa, on April 8, 1979. That evening, after working a late shift as a cocktail waitress, she called her sister from a grocery store. She asked her to take her children to her apartment on West Donald Street, where she would meet them later. Willie never arrived, and she has not been seen or heard from since. Her disappearance was reported a few days later, on April 12.
At the time, Willie had been dealing with personal issues, including problems with a boyfriend. Days before her disappearance, she confided to the police that she was scared of him, leading her family to suspect his involvement in her case. Despite these concerns, no one has been charged in connection with her disappearance, and her case remains unsolved.
Willie's son, David Barrett, was only a baby when she went missing and grew up believing his mother had died in a car accident. It wasn’t until he became an adult that he learned the truth about her disappearance. Despite the passage of time, Willie's case remains open, and authorities continue to seek information that might provide answers.
