Kaidena "Kay" Wood, aged 72, went missing on July 30, 2011, from her rural Norwalk, Iowa, home, which she shared with her husband, James "Bill" Wood, aged 79. That evening, their house was destroyed by a fire that investigators later determined was arson. Bill’s body was discovered in the charred remains the next day, and an autopsy revealed that he had been shot multiple times, ruling his death a homicide.
