Gregory John Carter, a 32-year-old man, was last seen in the last week of May 1984 in Leadville, Colorado. On July 16, 1984, his vehicle was discovered abandoned at the Buffalo Meadows Trailhead in Chaffee County. It was determined that the vehicle had been left there since May, shortly after his disappearance. Despite enjoying camping, most of Carter's camping gear was found at his home in Leadville, which raised further concerns about his whereabouts.
