Charles Ellsworth Duke, a 56-year-old man, disappeared on August 17, 2003, in Vogel Canyon, Colorado, under mysterious circumstances. On that day, Duke and his companion, Pam Eddings, were traveling in his niece's blue and gray minivan in the remote area of Vogel Canyon when the vehicle became stuck. According to Eddings, after attempting to free the van without success, they decided to abandon it and try to walk back to civilization.
