Dennis Frank Svoboda, aged 47, disappeared on January 21, 1996, while fishing on the Columbia River near Longview, Washington. He was last seen alongside his companion, Larry G. Mansur, in a red and white 15-foot Slickcraft runabout boat. The two men and their boat vanished under unclear circumstances that day. Several months later, on June 9, 1996, Mansur's body was found in the Columbia River near Willow Grove Park, about two miles from their last known location.
