Deling Sun, a 29-year-old woman from Glendora, California, was last seen on July 30, 2003, around 9:45 p.m. in a parking lot at Valley Boulevard and New Avenue in San Gabriel. She was driving a white 2003 Nissan Sentra without license plates at the time of her disappearance. Months later, her car was found abandoned at the Tom Bradley Terminal of Los Angeles International Airport. Inside the vehicle, authorities discovered "significant forensic evidence," but there was no trace of Deling.
Investigators suspected foul play, and in January 2004, they named two individuals as potential witnesses: Jin Hong Ji and Jiawei Gao, both of whom were of Chinese descent and were last known to be in their late 30s at the time. Despite these leads, Deling has not been found, and the case remains unsolved.
Her family also hired a private investigator who believed that Deling might have been abducted, possibly involving multiple individuals.
The case, initially handled by the Glendora police, is now under the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, where investigators continue to search for answers.
