In the early hours of March 6, 2013, a 42-year-old man named Christopher "Chris" Shane from the Hermitage area of Nashville, Tennessee, found himself seeking medical help. Believing he was suffering a heart attack, he went to Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center. After being medically evaluated and released at 12:43 a.m., he left the hospital on foot, carrying only his cell phone and its charger. This would be the last confirmed sighting of Christopher Shane. At the time he vanished, he was wearing a distinctive gray bubble coat with a maroon lining, a blue sweater over a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black Nike Air Jordan sneakers with white socks. Following his departure from the hospital, Christopher attempted to make contact with his loved ones. He placed calls to both his stepmother and his girlfriend, but neither was able to answer at that early hour. A few hours later, at 5:30 a.m., a text message was sent from his phone to his girlfriend. When she tried to call him back, the phone went unanswered. Since that brief text exchange, all communication from Christopher ceased, and his phone has apparently been turned off. An extensive search for him yielded no clues as to his whereabouts. The circumstances surrounding Christopher's disappearance remain a mystery. Those close to him do not believe he would have voluntarily walked away from his life, describing him as a man who was close to his family and dedicated to caring for his nieces and nephews. He did not own a car and typically relied on his girlfriend for transportation or used the public bus system. Distinctive features that might help identify him include a small scar in the middle of his forehead and two missing top front teeth. His case is still considered an unsolved and endangered missing person case, leaving his family with unanswered questions.
