Believing he was suffering a heart attack, he went to Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center. After being medically evaluated and released at 12:43 a.m., he left the hospital on foot, carrying only his cell phone and its charger. This would be the last confirmed sighting of Christopher Shane.
At the time he vanished, he was wearing a distinctive gray bubble coat with a maroon lining, a blue sweater over a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black Nike Air Jordan sneakers with white socks.
Following his departure from the hospital, Christopher attempted to make contact with his loved ones. He placed calls to both his stepmother and his girlfriend, but neither was able to answer at that early hour. A few hours later, at 5:30 a.m., a text message was sent from his phone to his girlfriend. When she tried to call him back, the phone went unanswered.
