Herold Robert Bock, aged 65, was last seen on November 9, 1997, in Wilmington, California. On that day, Bock set sail with his daughter, Jeannie Chavez, aboard their 64-foot schooner named *Connie B.* Their destination was Sitka, Alaska, and Bock estimated that the trip would take approximately 30 days. However, neither Bock, his daughter, nor their boat ever reached their destination, and there has been no contact with them since their departure.

The schooner was described as black with yellow trim and a white sail. Some reports suggest the boat may have wrecked, but despite efforts by the Coast Guard, no trace of the vessel or its passengers has been found. Both Bock and his daughter remain missing, and the circumstances of their disappearance are still unclear. The Los Angeles Police Department continues to handle the investigation, but no major leads have surfaced in the years since their disappearance.
