Michelle Ngan Ho Chan, a 31-year-old woman, went missing from Fremont, California, on October 9, 1999. She was last seen leaving her home for her daily walk but never returned. At the time, Michelle was seven months pregnant, with a due date in December, and she was suffering from depression. Her disappearance followed three previous instances where she had temporarily left home, but each time she had returned on her own.
