Michelle Ngan Ho Chan, a 31-year-old woman, went missing from Fremont, California, on October 9, 1999. She was last seen leaving her home for her daily walk but never returned. At the time, Michelle was seven months pregnant, with a due date in December, and she was suffering from depression. Her disappearance followed three previous instances where she had temporarily left home, but each time she had returned on her own.
Michelle's last known location was in the area of Mission Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway, where she had previously stated she slept during her brief disappearances. Despite an extensive search and checks at local hospitals, there was no sign of her. Authorities flagged her medical insurance and credit cards and informed immigration services to watch for her, in case she returned to her native China. Michelle’s case remains unsolved, and she has not been seen since that day.
