Sheri Lynn Muhleman, 25 years old and pregnant at the time, was last seen on February 27, 1989, in Fremont, California. She lived with her boyfriend, Michael Abraham, and their five-year-old daughter. According to Abraham, he saw Sheri sleeping when he left their home at 8:00 a.m. to go to work, and when he returned later that day, she was gone. Abraham’s sister also reported seeing Sheri later that morning, packing up belongings. Despite being in touch with her family almost daily, Sheri has not been heard from since.
At the time of her disappearance, Sheri had an outstanding arrest warrant related to drug charges, but authorities do not believe she left because of the warrant. Notably, Sheri left behind her coat on a rainy day, which added to the suspicion that foul play was involved. Investigators found evidence at the couple’s home that suggested someone had been murdered there, leading them to suspect that Sheri may have been the victim of a homicide, although her body has never been found.
In 2017, new information emerged, prompting the Fremont police to reopen the case. Witnesses came forward with statements, and the house Sheri lived in, now demolished, once stood where a church is currently located. Despite the passage of time, her disappearance remains unsolved, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact local authorities.
