Paul Andrew Hughes, age 41, was last seen on March 4, 2000, in Middlebrook, Virginia. That night, he was reportedly intoxicated and in the company of a friend, Timothy Balser. They were riding in Balser's 1984 Ford pickup truck. According to Balser, they drove to White's Truck Stop in Lexington, Virginia, around midnight, where Balser had breakfast while Hughes went to another part of the truck stop to play video games.
