On April 15, 2007, 37-year-old Paul Jason Shuart was traveling with his mother, returning to their home in Portland, Oregon, from a family visit in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their journey involved a Greyhound bus trip, which included a stop in Baker City, Oregon. During the trip, Paul, who had a history of medical conditions including a brain disorder and seizures triggered by stress, had not been eating or sleeping well and had forgotten to pack his antidepressant medication.
