Vanessa Smith, a 34-year-old woman from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was last seen on New Year's Eve, December 31, 1990. She was celebrating the holiday at the Ambassador Hotel on West Wisconsin Avenue. After spending the evening with her boyfriend, she reportedly called a cab around midnight, but her boyfriend, who escorted her to the exit of his apartment building, did not actually see her get into the vehicle.
