Kristin Diede, a 30-year-old woman from Minnesota, disappeared on August 15, 1993, along with her boyfriend, Robert Anderson, while visiting Wishek, North Dakota. The couple had traveled to Wishek to drop off Kristin’s two children at their paternal grandparents' home. After the drop-off, they planned to return to Minnesota but never made it back. They were last seen inquiring about child custody laws with a highway patrol officer before vanishing.
Five days later, on August 20, their van was discovered abandoned in Aberdeen, South Dakota, about 100 miles away. The vehicle's VIN number had been scratched off, and its license plates were removed, raising suspicions of foul play. Despite extensive investigations, no trace of Kristin or Robert has ever been found. Authorities suspect that both may have been victims of homicide, although no concrete evidence has surfaced to confirm this.
Kristin was in the midst of a divorce at the time, and her sudden disappearance left family and investigators searching for answers.
