Mark was reportedly planning a fishing trip in the West Point area that day, and he was driving a blue 1996 Subaru Outback with a yellow kayak tied to the top. The vehicle had distinct characteristics, including a cracked windshield and a tied-down hood. Neither Mark nor his vehicle has been seen since that evening.
Dantche was described as being 5'8", weighing around 190 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He had several distinguishing features, including burn scars on his right leg and a skin graft scar on his left thigh. He had suffered previous injuries, including a healed right foot fracture.
