Ronda Jean Kuschell, 31, was last seen on January 25, 1985, in Elwood, Kansas. That evening, her mother left for St. Joseph, Missouri, around 7:00 p.m., and Ronda declined an invitation to join her. When her mother returned home at 9:30 p.m., Ronda was missing. Her father, while on his way to work later that night, noticed Ronda's car parked near the Missouri River levee off U.S. Highway 36.
