Kendra Leigh Nystrom, a 30-year-old woman from Maize, Kansas, was last seen on May 4, 2017. That morning, she visited her parents' house on West 29th Street North to do laundry. Accompanied by a friend, she accidentally set off the home's security alarm, summoning the police. Her friend was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, while Kendra watched from the house. Shortly after, she left the home on foot, walking south along Cowskin Creek with her dog, Frankie, and has not been seen since.
Kendra left behind personal belongings, including her phone, wallet, and car. Investigators have since uncovered a pair of pants and a small item containing her DNA near Cowskin Creek in 2018. While there were possible sightings in the months after her disappearance, none were confirmed. Authorities believe she may have drowned in the flooded creek, as the area experienced high water levels at the time. Despite this theory, no remains have been found, and the case remains unsolved.
