On a cold day in February of 1992, a 52-year-old woman named Lina Ham vanished from her home in the Bronx, New York. She was last seen on February 18th of that year, and what began as an ordinary day turned into a decades-long mystery. Lina, a Black female with black hair and brown eyes, stood about 5'4" and weighed around 160 pounds. Her disappearance was alarming to her loved ones as she left all of her personal belongings behind and gave no indication that she planned to leave. This was entirely out of character for Lina, sparking immediate concern for her welfare. The initial investigation into Lina's disappearance yielded very few clues. Authorities interviewed friends, family, and neighbors, but no substantial leads emerged that could explain where she might have gone. Searches were conducted in the Bronx and the areas surrounding it, yet no trace of Lina was ever found. The case was complicated by a lack of evidence suggesting either foul play or a voluntary departure. Lina had several distinct physical traits that her family hoped would make her easy to identify: she walked with a noticeable limp on her left side, had a scar above her lip, and her right pinky finger was curled inward. She also went by the names Lena or Lana, which may have caused some confusion in tracking information over the years. Decades have passed since Lina Ham was last seen, and her case has grown cold, though it remains an open investigation. Over the years, her family has made public appeals for information, hoping to generate new leads that might finally bring them answers. Despite their efforts, her whereabouts remain unknown, and no confirmed sightings of her have ever been reported. The profound uncertainty surrounding what happened to Lina has left her family in a state of prolonged distress. The case of Lina Ham is a somber reminder of a life interrupted, a family left waiting, and a mystery that endures more than thirty years later.
