Theresa Ann Rideout, a 36-year-old woman from Chandler, Indiana, was last seen on September 2, 1994. She was reported missing by a friend on September 11, after her boyfriend, Jack Barnett, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a motel. Investigators discovered that Theresa had not been seen for over a week before Barnett's suicide.
