On a spring day, April 10, 2010, 30-year-old Charles Palmer was enjoying a snowmobiling trip with friends and family in the vast wilderness of Talkeetna, Alaska. The group was making their way through the Talkeetna Mountains, west of Mastadon Road in the vicinity of Bald Mountain, heading towards a cabin near Sheep Creek for the night.
