Sidney Taylor, a 35-year-old man from Houston, Texas, was last seen on April 2, 2016, in Austin, Texas, where he and his longtime friend Krislyn Gibson had traveled to attend the Urban Music Festival. The two were seen together with Harvey Cyphers, a friend they had met up with, at a local club. Surveillance footage captured the three entering and later leaving the club around 2:00 a.m.
Sidney spoke to a friend at 3:00 a.m., saying he was with Cyphers, but neither Sidney nor Krislyn made it back to their friend's residence, and they were never heard from again.
Two days later, Sidney's 2010 Dodge Charger was found abandoned in Houston, over 160 miles from where they were last seen. Evidence found in the car, including blood and personal belongings, led investigators to believe foul play was involved. Subsequent investigations pointed to Cyphers, who had inconsistencies in his story and was later charged with tampering with evidence and ultimately with the murders of both Sidney and Krislyn. Despite these charges, their bodies have never been found, and the case remains unsolved, with Cyphers awaiting trial.
