Michael Dean Stephenson, 44 years old, was last seen on July 1, 1996, in Ventura County, California. At the time of his disappearance, Michael had gone on a solo camping trip to the Nettle Springs and Apache Canyon area in the Los Padres National Forest. He had planned to stay at a friend’s cabin in the area. His vehicle was found days later in the vicinity of Nettle Springs, with his camping gear inside, suggesting he may have gone on a day hike but never returned.
