Ryan Beauchamp, a 17-year-old from Coos Bay, Oregon, went missing on April 28, 2000, while rock climbing near the mouth of Sunset Bay, just south of Coos Bay. During his climb, Ryan was tragically swept away by a sneaker wave, a powerful and unpredictable force common along Oregon's rugged coastlines. Despite extensive search efforts by authorities and volunteers, his body was never recovered, and he remains missing.
