Mandana Boushehri, 22, was last seen in Imnaha, Oregon, on August 2, 1984. She had embarked on a backpacking trip into the Hells Canyon National Recreation Area, having left her home in Twisp, Washington, around July 22, 1984. Before arriving in Oregon, Mandana visited friends in Walla Walla, Washington. Although she was not an experienced backpacker, she intended to spend 4-6 weeks in the wilderness.
