In the spring of 1989, a young woman named Angela Lynn Chan, aged 19, disappeared from Redmond, Oregon, leaving behind a series of puzzling clues. She was last seen on March 27, 1989, by her husband, Bruce Chan, a lieutenant in the U.S. Marines. At the time, the couple was estranged, and Angela was living with her parents in Redmond while her husband was stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. Bruce was visiting for the weekend, and on the morning of March 27th, he and Angela went trap shooting. According to his statement, he dropped her off at her parents' home around 2 p.m. and then began his drive back to California. Angela has not been seen or heard from since that day. Two days after she was last seen, on March 29, Angela's family reported her missing. That same day, her yellow Datsun B-210 was discovered abandoned in a pullout along Highway 126, near the Cline Falls Bridge, west of Redmond. The vehicle was in operable condition and still had fuel. However, the passenger-side window had been shattered with a rock, which was found inside the car between the front seats. Inside the vehicle were Angela's shoes and, according to some reports, her purse. There were conflicting reports regarding whether her purse was found in the car. At the time of her disappearance, Angela was described as a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes, standing 5'2" and weighing around 120 pounds. She had a scar on her chin, at least two piercings in each ear, and two tattoos: a rose or orchid on her left ankle and a circle with an arrow on her left shoulder. The circumstances surrounding Angela Chan's disappearance are considered suspicious, and authorities suspect foul play. Although she and her husband were having marital problems and she had told her mother she intended to ask for a divorce, her family described her as happy and looking forward to the future. She was reportedly seeing another man at the time. While her husband, Bruce, was the last known person to see her, and authorities have considered his potential involvement, there has been no evidence to definitively link him to her disappearance. Several witnesses reported seeing Angela's car and a woman matching her description near the Cline Falls Bridge later on the afternoon she vanished. Initially, it was thought she might have left on her own, but the suspicious condition of her car led investigators to believe otherwise. The case of Angela Lynn Chan remains an unsolved and troubling mystery. Her disappearance left her family with unanswered questions and a void that has lasted for decades. Despite the passage of time, the investigation into what happened to Angela continues.
