His son dropped him off at the Robstown Cemetery so that he could visit the grave of his other son, who had passed away ten months prior. After being dropped off, Olivares-Cruz was never seen again.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a gray and white plaid shirt, blue jeans, a black belt, black shoes, and an orange baseball cap with "Saratoga Casino" printed on it.
