On October 25, 2016, a distressing event unfolded involving 58-year-old Steven Madsen from Brooklyn, New York. On that Tuesday, Madsen was seen driving his 2007 Nissan Sentra on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Eyewitnesses reported seeing him stop his vehicle on the lower level of the bridge, on the side heading toward Staten Island. What they saw next was deeply concerning: Madsen got out of his car and jumped over the side of the bridge. This shocking act was the last time anyone reported seeing him. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male, standing between 5'6" and 5'7" tall, and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. He had graying hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt. Following the incident, authorities were immediately notified, and the New York City Police Department's Missing Persons Squad opened an investigation. His car, a gray Nissan Sentra with New York license plate AHC3017, was recovered and found abandoned at the scene. Despite the immediate response and subsequent search efforts, Steven Madsen has not been located since that day. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance were based on the witness accounts of him jumping from the bridge. The official report from the day he went missing was filed with the New York City Police Department under case number 16-10025. The case of Steven Madsen is a somber one, marked by the harrowing accounts of his last seen moments. Information regarding the search efforts that followed is not widely available in public records. The investigation was handled by the New York City Police Department, and his case was later entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) as case number MP42633 in March 2018. To date, he remains missing. This overview encapsulates the known details of the case, from the moment he was last seen to the official actions taken, reflecting a deeply troubling and unresolved situation.
