On January 25, 2017, three-year-old Briana Pereira was reported missing from Hialeah, Florida, along with her siblings, after being abducted by their non-custodial parents, Lester Pereira Sr. and Rosa Martinez Diaz. At the time, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) had been granted custody of the children, but shortly before they were to be taken into protective care, the parents fled with Briana, her 11-year-old sister Roselyn, and 13-year-old brother Lester Jr.
