Lorenzo Neri, a 38-year-old Italian national, was last seen on December 4, 2017, in Scotts Valley, California. He had been living in Silicon Valley since 2005 and was a well-respected sommelier and yoga teacher. Neri had recently displayed signs of increasing paranoia, expressing to friends and family that he feared people were out to hurt him. Early on the morning of December 4, he was stopped by police near Scotts Valley Drive and Acorn Court. During the encounter, Neri fled into the woods, leaving behind his cell phone and wallet, and has not been seen since.
His disappearance occurred under unusual circumstances, with friends suggesting he may have been suffering from an undiagnosed mental health condition. An extensive search of the area yielded no clues as to his whereabouts. His family, including his sister who flew in from Italy to assist in the search, has been actively seeking any information that could help find him.
