On the morning of 4/26/96 the decedent was an occupant of a van traveling westbound on Interstate 8 East of Tavern Road. The vehicle collided with a Border Patrol transport van and lost control. Both vehicles ran off the highway. The passenger van, which was transporting 23 people overturned ejecting the occupants.
