Herbert James Butler was found deceased on March 22, 2025, inside his apartment in Los Angeles, California. The discovery was prompted by a building security and maintenance staff member who, after detecting a strong odor and observing an unusual number of flies near Butler’s door, used a key to perform a welfare check. Upon entry, the staff immediately contacted emergency services.
