In late March 2023, the lifeless body of Michael Augustine Beltran was discovered beneath a bridge in Los Angeles, California, an area that may have been used as an encampment. Upon discovery, he was unresponsive, and life-saving measures were attempted by transporting him swiftly to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of the medical personnel, Beltran was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
