On December 7, 2021, in San Diego, California, a case emerged involving an unclaimed individual identified as George Tracy Ellis. The discovery was made by the San Diego Police after a call from Ellis's apartment manager who expressed concern for his welfare. The manager, having not seen Ellis for several days, prompted the police to perform a welfare check.
